GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
of the Waikiki 2000 Lions Club |
|
GOAL: | |
The primary interest of the Waikiki 2000 Lions Club and of the International Association of Lions Clubs are people. Indeed, the strength of Lionism is people. More specifically, the interest of the club is to be a forum from which a cross-section of our citizen may join in an environment of fellowship to deliver efficient and meaningful service effectively and related to our community's "real" needs. Accordingly, the Waikiki2000 Lions Club was started by Lion Richard Sakoda in 1995 with the following objectives (and challenges) in mind:
Objective 1: | |
To recruit and engage as many caring, enthusiastic people in a common interest of "Service with Fellowship";
Objective 2: | |
Quality and creative leadership are to be the hallmarks of the Waikiki 2000 Lions Club;
Objective 3: | |
To explore the diverse needs of the Waikiki Community and by aiming at the most urgent needs of the Waikiki Community develop one or more meaningful project that contributes toward a more satisfying life for both our service providers and beneficiaries of the service events;
Objective 4: | |
To develop as fully as possible the club's Service Activity Fund needed to finance the club's projects for the Waikiki community. Chairpersons must not be afraid to "break new grounds" provided it does not detract from the purpose, principles, and objects of Lionism;
Objective 5: | |
To deploy Waikiki 2000 Lions Club's finances, manpower and leadership resources wisely by avoiding whenever possible, a "financial-aid only" kind of project;
Objective 6: | |
To provide the Waikiki 2000 Lions Club's membership with the opportunity, guidance, encouragement and assistance to advance or improve their management skills as officers and chairpersons for the various activities at the club, district, and international level. |
