THE LION "K-FAT" HIRAMATSU

LIONS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

PREFACE:
Today, more than ever before, we need effective leaders - locally, nationally and global-who can face the present realities and the challenges of the future; leaders who are willing to take risks and change with times to challenge their best effort; leaders who can adapt to the new work, social and other needs of our communities.
THE MISSION:
The Lion "K-Fat" Hiramatsu Leadership Development Foundation shall help prepare the next and succeeding generations of ethical Lion Leaders that will strengthen the volunteer leadership service capacity of our club, Lion clubs in District-50 Hawaii and other Lions clubs elsewhere.
OBJECTIVES:
To identify new Lions, Lionesses, Leos and their potentialities to develop or improve their abilities to meet the present and new challenges of leadership with the spirit of "Service With Fellowship" that is vital to the future if Lionism;

To plant within them the seeds which can one day flourish into the skills necessary for producing first-rate Lion leaders who can also service the business and government communities;

To stimulate their acceptance of the highest level of ethical standards while leading in new ways for a new world; to nourish these traits and to develop them further;

To provide subsidies for as many new Lions as possible (and eventually to Lionesses and Leos when permitted to participate by the Institute) to undergo formal training at the Lions International Leadership Institute to cultivate their international understanding and leadership skills that will accelerate their effectiveness in providing volunteer leadership service;

To encourage new Lions, Lionesses, and Leos to continue improving their leadership abilities and to help others learn "how-to-learn" to cultivate their leadership skills through mentoring, partnering, networking, modern workshops, seminars, courses, written materials, videos and other methods;

To provide opportunities for them to promote and contribute their international understanding by organizing and engaging them in volunteer leadership service forums, conferences, joint-service projects and programs to include our international service partners from throughout the world; and finally,

To establish a full-time "K-Fat" Hiramatsu Lions Leadership Development Training Center in Hawaii dedicated to advancing his "Essence of Leadership In Lionism" and "Service With Fellowship" philosophy, and, where Lions in Hawaii, the Pacific Rim regions and beyond can gather to meld with the eternal "Spirit of Aloha" and contribute more effectively to the "cause of peace throughout the world."
